Dr Melissa O’Neill

As a specialist Obstetrician, Dr O’Neill is committed to providing excellent care throughout your pregnancy, labour and beyond. 

Dr O’Neill practices all aspects of Specialist Obstetric care including   antenatal care, labour, delivery and postnatal care.  She  works closely with a gifted team  of midwives and experienced administration, who are just as passionate about the  provision of exceptional care through this important time in your family’s life.  Dr O’Neill works exclusively through  St John of God Subiaco Hospital because she believes it offers exceptional care for women in labour and postnatally.

Dr O’Neill is a graduate of the University of WA Medical School, and her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology was based in Western Australia.

Dr O’Neill is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), and is also a member of the The National Association of Specialist Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (NASOG) and the Australian Medical Association (AMA).  As a part of her professional affiliations, she regularly attends conferences and continuing medical education programs, ensuring the most up to date practice.  Dr O’Neill participates in teaching and mentorship  of medical students from both West Australian medical schools.

Dr O’Neill is a mother of two boys and clearly recalls the joy their arrival brought into her and her family’s life.  She feels very privileged to be able to share this joy and excitement as her patients become new parents.


Midwives: Jeannie and Kelle

Dr O’Neill’s team includes practice midwives,  adding  another dimension caring for your   pregnancy.  At every appointment you will have time with both the midwife and Dr O’Neill, giving you the additional opportunity to ask questions regarding all aspects of pregnancy care. Pregnancy can be a time of uncertainty and  you will have ample time at each appointment to address any concerns you may have.  In addition to scheduled appointments, a practice midwife is available in the office any morning of the week for phone advice.  The midwifery team ensure any tests you have during pregnancy are followed up and will contact you as needed.  

Secretary: Steph
Steph will be your friendly first point of contact in the office.  She is a  wealth of information and welcomes your enquires as we get your pregnancy care organised.  Not only will she help schedule your appointments, but she has extensive experience with health insurance funds and Medicare.  She can also help you with correspondence, such as confinement and fit to fly letters.
